Responsibilities
- Read and interpret prints, drawings and codes for layout and installation of electrical equipment.
- Install, service and maintain electrical components such as lighting fixtures, switches, conduit and electrical controls.
- Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits, and conduct preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
- Operate in extremely busy or noisy workplaces.

What You’ll Need
Entrance Requirements
High school or equivalent. Complete a three-to-four-year apprenticeship program. Once you successfully complete the required on-the-job training, technical training and exams, you are awarded a journeyperson certificate.
Apprenticeship Program: 4 years, includes technical training, on-the-job training and exam. Journeyperson certificate awarded after successful completion.
